Rafał Rogulski studied cultural and political science at the Universities of Wrocław and Marburg, and participated in the Executive MBA programme at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. He was an assistant and then an advisor to Professor Władysław Bartoszewski, first at the Polish Robert Schuman Foundation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1998–2001), and later at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland (2008–12). From 2001 to 2005 he was secretary of the Culture Department at the Polish Embassy in Berlin. In the late 1990s Rogulski worked as a journalist for the daily Życie (Life) and the bimonthly journal Europa. In 2010, Ministers Tomasz Merta and Andrzej Przewoźnik entrusted him with the creation and management of the ENRS Secretariat, which in 2015 became the Institute of European Network Remembrance and Solidarity.

Graduated from the University of Warsaw (Philosophy) and the Poznan University of Economics/ University of Rennes 1 (Master Administration des Entreprises). She is experienced in management of the public sector's projects in the field of culture, education and international relations. In 2006-2013 she worked at the National Centre for Culture heading the competence-building projects aimed at the development of cultural sector. She has experience in coordination of international high-level meetings and conferences as 4th ASEM Culture Ministers' Meeting, Experts Conference during Poland's EU Presidency, and Meeting of Ministers of Culture of the Visegrad countries. She cooperated with several academic and public sector institutions, conducting trainings in the field of fundraising and project management, as well as providing expertise.

Graduated in cultural studies and project management. He received his PhD degree from the Faculty of Theology of the Catholic University of Lublin. His scientific interests include strategy and implementation of the media message. As a manager, he specializes in strategy, design thinking, policy implementation and finding innovative solutions for maximum impact under changing circumstances and with limited resources. Apart from heading the administration department at the ENRS, he was the head of units at several state cultural institutions, including a national museum, film institute and gallery of contemporary art. He has vast expierience in planning and production of permanent and temporary exhibitions for museums. He worked on projects of core exhibitions for the National Museum in Krakow, the National Museum in Kielce and the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. He also produces documentary films.

Agnieszka Kucharska graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and Social Communication at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. She gained office and administrative experience working for trading company, non-governmental and public institutions, including Copernicus Science Centre. At the ENRS she supports the office in organizational and administrative issues.

Magdalena Ważny graduated from the Social Work and Educational Management program at Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw. She gained office experience working for a public institution in the cultural sector, organizing educational and cultural events. Before joining ENRS, she worked for several years in the MICE industry and was responsible for meetings, incentives, and trainings for companies. She is interested in art performance, work-life balance, and partnerships between nonprofit organizations and local society.

Iwona Surleta graduated from the Institute of History of the University of Wrocław with a master's degree in history. She also completed postgraduate studies at the University of Warsaw and the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University. Her interests include issues related to the history of the twentieth century, with an emphasis on social and national relations, she is professionally interested in data management and testing data management software. She has been working in the government sector as an archivist for several years.

Magdalena Żelazowska graduated from the Institute of Applied Linguistics at the University of Warsaw. Before joining ENRS she managed Polish Tourism Organisation’s office in New York. In Poland she worked as Marketing Manager at HarperCollins and international media companies, including Interia.pl and Bauer Media Group. She has a passion for writing and journalism, her books were published by National Geographic and other publishers.

Monika Haber graduated in language studies and sustainable urban development in Vilnius (Lithuania), and now is being completing postgraduate course at Warsaw University in the area of international law and diplomacy. She received her PhD degree from the Faculty of Philology at Vilnius University in the field of cognitive sciences and ethnolinguistics, and since then academically focuses on axiology, emotional intelligence, communications and the broader relations between language, culture and the mind. Before joining ENRS, she spent several years working in the private sector as a PR and marketing manager, and the last several years providing administrative and substantive support to the Office of the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Poland. Privately – screenwriter, passionate about music, art and culture of the Interwar period.

Agnieszka Osiak holds a BA in Near and Middle East Studies from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. She mainly takes care of the ENRS' social media accounts.

Alika holds a BA in Spanish Language (Jagiellonian University) and MA degrees in Latin American Studies (Warsaw University) and Urban Studies (Berlin Technical University). She has been working as a freelance copywriter and translator since 2014. She joined ENRS to support the team with recruitment campaigns, content production and public relations. Her main interest is contemporary literature. She is also an avid observer of urban tribes, social trends and the presence of arts in public space.

Beata Drzazga graduated from University of Warsaw with two master's degrees in Hungarian Philology (2012) & Management (2014) with specialisation in Organisation Development Consulting. She spent two semesters at the Faculty of Humanities of the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest and completed an internship in Balassi Institute Hungarian Cultural Centre in London during the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. Throughout her university education she took opportunities to try various approaches to management, working in both the public and private sectors. She joined the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity in 2013. Since 2021 she has held a role of Head of Strategy & Development Department. She is a passionate museum and gallery visitor and an enthusiast of design, art, and creative-based endeavours.

Iwona Szelewa holds a master's degree from two faculties at the University of Warsaw: the Institute of Sociology and the Institute of Social Policy. In addition, she is a graduate of the National School of Public Administration (KSAP) and holds a civil servant title. Iwona specializes in implementing EU cohesion policy funds and research programs. She previously worked as a specialist in implementing and auditing projects co-funded by the EU at the Ministry of Investment&Economic Development in Poland and the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy in Poland. She also worked as a Research Project Manager at the University of Akureyri in Iceland.

Marianna Sadownik graduated from two faculties at the University of Warsaw: the Institute of Applied Linguistics, with English and Russian languages, and the Centre for East European Studies, with a specialisation in Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus. Having cooperated with NGOs, governmental institutions and international organisations, she is experienced in the field of international cultural project management and human rights education.

Natalia Pomian is an anthropologist and PhD candidate at Doctoral School of Humanities at University of Warsaw. She is working on dissertation about infertility treatments in Poland, especially on naprotechnology. In her research she has combined an anthropological and historical perspective as she is interested in everyday life in socialist Poland. Pomian was a scholar in NCN-founded project about Catholicism and reproduction in Poland (1930-present). In 2021-2023 as a coordinator in Initiative for Afghan students at University of Warsaw she was responsible for organizing Polish courses and introduction to life in Poland for refugees from Afghanistan.

Dr. Olga Lebedeva is a historian who graduated from the University of Warsaw. In 2024, she earned her PhD, focusing her dissertation on the historical memory of communism in the former USSR and former Yugoslavia. Her research combined two of her greatest passions—history and travel—by examining museum institutions across these regions. In addition to her academic background, she completed postgraduate studies at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). She has also organized numerous international conferences, both in Poland and the United States, further contributing to the global dialogue on history and memory.

Joanna Orłoś holds a master degree in English Philology from University of Warsaw. She completed postgraduate courses at Warsaw School of Economics and The Maria Grzegorzewska University of Warsaw in the area of psychology and managerial competencies. English and Czech translator into Polish, member of the Polish Literary Translators’ Association.

Maria Naimska holds degrees from the Institute of Political Science and from the Centre for Studies on the Classical Tradition, both at the University of Warsaw. She specializes in management of cultural and educational projects. Her field of interests focuses on innovative and creative solutions for the educational system, as well as finding creative tools for non-formal historical education. She is the coordinator of the 'Hi-story lessons. Teaching & learning about 20th-century European history' project.

Urszula Bijoś has graduated with a MA in History from the Institute of History (University of Warsaw). She also studied one semester at the Paul-Valery III University in Montpellier (France). Her field of interests focuses on popularization of XXth century history and culture of remembrance. Before joining ENRS, she worked for several years in non-governmental sector creating educational materials for schools and training the teachers. She is the co-author of the guidebooks 'Cities of Memory' about places of memory in Berlin and Bucharest.

Justyna Radziukiewicz holds a master's degree in Cultural Studies from the Institute of Polish Culture at the University of Warsaw. Before joining ENRS, she worked for several years in public institutions and the non-governmental sector. Justyna was responsible for the creation and organisation of hundreds of cultural events in Warsaw, mainly dealing with Polish historical heritage. From 2012 to 2019 she was the head of the Department of Cultural Education and the Warsaw Photoplasticon. Her interests are focused on the dissemination of culture and history, especially through the arts.

For more than five years, Dagmara Chełstowska has been initiating and coordinating projects related to history and culture at both universities: the University of Warsaw and the University of Copenhagen. One notable project that started at UW focused on conducting and analyzing oral history interviews, as well as teaching students at KU how to utilize this research method. She effectively coordinates the work of research teams from UW and KARTA, as well as collaborating with artists. Currently, she is involved in the preparation of photo documentation to create a digital archive. Dagmara Chełstowska holds a BA in History from the University of Warsaw, with a particular focus on the genealogy of memory during her studies.

Aleksandra Kalinowska holds a BA in Industrial Design from the University of Fine Arts in Poznan and a Masters in Interactive Media and Performances from Adam Mickiewicz University. She has professional experience in cultural management, currently works in the Projects Department at ENRS.

Helena Link graduated with a MA in Interdisciplinary Poland-Studies at the Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena in 2022 with a focus on Slavistics and Polish literature. She studied her BA in International Cultural and Business studies at the University of Passau and spent each one semester at the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) and at the Adam-Mickiewicz University of Poznań (Poland). Before joining the ENRS, Helena worked as a staff member and tutor of the Institute of Eastern European History at the Friedrich-Schiller-University, focusing on Polish history and the Holocaust. Through several internships and voluntary activities, Helena gained experiences in organizing intercultural projects and seminars for German-Polish youth and international groups.

Graduated from the University of Warsaw with an MA in History and a BA in Journalism. Between 2015 and 2023 she worked for the NGO Forum for Dialogue, coordinating programmes for students and teachers aimed at exploring and commemorating Jewish history in medium and small towns across Poland. She also cooperated with various institutions in the field of audio reportage, podcasts and oral history - such as Polish Radio, Yahad in-Unum, the Museum of Warsaw and the University of Warsaw. She is experienced in historical research for documentary productions and scholars. She is co-author of the guidebooks 'Cities of Memory' about places of memory in Berlin and Bucharest.

Verena Böhnisch has graduated in Arts Management at TU Kaiserslautern and Middle and Eastern European Studies at University of Cologne. She studied one semester at the University of Gdańsk. Since her studies, she has been an active member in German-Polish Youth Exchange. Besides working as an educator in historical and intercultural context in Germany and Poland, she specializes in developping international orchestra projects.

Barbara Walshe has had a varied career working in the fields of research, advocacy, training, communications, community development, peace building and restorative work at local, national, and international level. From her role as a Peace Observer and Envoy in the Israel/Palestine conflict to her ongoing work in the Northern Ireland conflict, Barbara has been a firm advocate for non-violent means of resolving conflict through dialogue, whether at local community level or in areas of conflict across the globe. Barbara was Board Chair at the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation from 2014-2022. A skilled communicator, Barbara researched and presented the RTE radio series ‘Picking Up the Pieces’ which documented grassroots peacebuilding in an Irish post-conflict environment. Having previously worked for the Combat Poverty Agency, she has campaigned to include the voices of those who live on the margins due to the climate crisis to be heard in the mainstream. She contributes regularly to discussions and debates at local and national level and has represented the Irish peacebuilding community. She holds a Masters in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation (Trinity College Dublin, Belfast based), Masters in Community Development (NUI, Galway), (Graduate of Mastery Foundation, School for Leadership).

Dr Małgorzata Pakier is Head of the ENRS Academic Section. She is a member of the Social Memory Laboratory at the Institute of Sociology, University of Warsaw. Pakier received her PhD degree from the European University Institute, Florence, History and Civilization Department. Between 2011 and 2017 she was head of the Research and Publications Department at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. In 2010 she was a Research Fellow at the Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, Washington, DC. She is the author of ‘The Construction of European Holocaust Memory: German and Polish Cinema after 1989’ (Frankfurt/M. 2013) and the editor of ‘A European Memory? Contested Histories and Politics of Remembrance’ (with Bo Stråth; Oxford-New York, 2010, 2012) and ‘Memory and Change in Europe. Eastern Perspectives’ (with Joanna Wawrzyniak, Oxford-New York 2015). Her academic interests include: Europeanization of memory, Holocaust representation, social/cultural memory, museum studies, film, and recently Jewish involvement in the communist movement in Poland from a biographical perspective.

Gábor Danyi graduated from Hungarian literature and philology, and comparative literature at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest where he earned a PhD in Comparative Literature. His research focuses on cultural resistance in Hungary during the Cold War, with a special emphasis on unofficial publications. He publishes papers in Hungarian, Polish and English. He translates both technical texts and literature from Polish language into Hungarian. Since December 2015, he works for the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity in Warsaw.

Researcher and deputy head of Academic Section at the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity. He studied history at the Warsaw University and at Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, as well as international relations at the Warsaw School of Economics. He received his PhD degree (2013) from the History Institute of the Warsaw University. Dziewanowski-Stefańczyk completed internships at the Polish embassies in Washington and Berlin. Later worked for Royal Danish Embassy in Warsaw, for the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and for the Center for Historical Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Berlin (2012-2015). He was also scientific secretary of the Polish-German Textbook Commission (2012-2016) and worked as a secretary of the Polish-German History Textbook. He specializes in Polish-German relations and memory politics. At the ENRS he is a curator of an international exhibition “After the Great War. A New Europe 1918-1923” and is conducting research on Polish foreign politics of memory in the 20th century.

Researcher and member of Academic Section at the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity. She obtained her Ph.D. degree (2010) from the History Institute of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. Since 2012 she works as an adjunct at the Institute of History Polish Academy of Sciences. Before she joined the ENRS team she participated in the CLIOHRES.net - a Sixth Framework Programme Network of Excellence organized by a group of 45 European universities and was a principal investigator of two research grants on social history of communist Poland funded by [Polish] National Science Centre. In 2016-2017 she worked in the Polish History Museum where she was a member of Department for Permanent Exhibition, and was co-responsible for developing the part of exhibition on the postwar history of Poland. Szpak is an author of three books on social and cultural history of communist (peripheral) Poland and co-author of the first Polish oral history manual. She specializes in history of everyday life, social history of medicine and history of biopolitics. She likes old photography, jazz and movie scores.

Konrad Bielecki is a historian, specializing in cultural history. He graduated from the Jagiellonian University (2012) and received his PhD from The Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences (2022). Between 2014 and 2020, he was granted scholarships by National Science Center (ETIUDA 6), Fritz Thyssen Stiftung (Herzog-Ernst-Stipendien) and De Brzezie Lanckoronski Foundation, and completed an internship in Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, funded by Scholarship Foundation of the Republic of Austria. During his career Bielecki has gained vast experience in numerous educational and exhibition projects. In september 2022 he joined the ENRS Academic Section.

Karolina Kruźlak is a student at the College of Interdisciplinary Individual Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences of University of Warsaw. Her main faculties are history and sociology. Her field of interest concentrate on the theory and methodology of history, processes of creating memory but also history of the Central-East Europe.

Ania Michalska holds a BA degree in Polish comparative literature from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, and an MA degree in English literature and culture from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Her research focused on the interlinking between literature and (social) media. She has professional experience working in a publishing house and cultural institutions. She has been cooperating with ENRS on various projects since 2021.
