The Glencree Centre for Peace & Reconciliation is an international hub for conflict resolution and promoting sustainable peace. Founded in 1974 the Glencree Centre has been a major actor in the effort to achieve peace between Ireland and Northern Ireland in the decades-long conflict named ‘the Troubles’.

Throughout the visit you will be able to experience the atmosphere of Glencree peace campus, meet their academic and educational staff & gain better understanding of Irish history and the present. This visit can enrich your methods of work, provide reference points to your research and increase the comprehension of peace process.

During your visit you will be able to take part in one of the workshop on:  

1) Political Dialogue in the Irish Peace Process 
2) The Irish Peace Process - 24 years on from the Good Friday Agreement 
3) Irish Muslim and Irish African Identities in Ireland today
4) Participation of Women in the Prevention of Conflict and Promotion of Peace and Security  

Glencree is located in an area of great natural beauty offering a place to explore. After the workshop you are invited for a walk and dinner in the Armoury Café.

Organizational information: Participants will be picked up at the Symposium venue at 3 pm.. The Glencree Centre is located an approximately one hour ride form the city centre. The bus will be returning to Dublin city centre around 8:30 pm (after dinner).
