On 21 August (Saturday) the official presentation of our travelling exhibition 'After the Great War' will be held in Kaunas, Lithuania. It will take place as a part of the 'Threads of Memory', event organised by Kaunas IX Forth Museum to commemorate 23 August - the European Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Totalitarian Regimes.
Apart from the presentation of our display, the rich cultural program of this event includes debate, contemporary art performance and concert of singing poetry.
Kaunas IX Forth Museum is a symbolic place to commemorate the 23 August: in this stronghold both communist and Nazi-Germany interrogations and mass murders were taking place. About 50 000 people were executed there.
Each year ENRS commemorates the European Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Totalitarian Regimes by carrying out an information campaign "Remember. August 23" and producing short films presenting the stories of people, who experienced totalitarian violence. During this year's edition we will introduce you the life of Estonian writer Jaan Kross. Premiere of the film will be held on 23 August .
