Dr Elena Mannová is senior research fellow at the Institute of History, Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava. Former (2003 – 2006) member of the SAW Centre of Excellence ‘Collective Identities in Modern Societies. Central European Region. Processes of construction, reproduction and transformation of collective categories and identities’. She participated in the EU projects ‘Network of Excellence CLIOHRES’ (6FP) and ‘Building on the Past: European Doctorate in the Social History of Europe and the Mediterranean’ (5FP and 6FP). Her research fields, among others, include social history of the 19th and 20th century, memory studies.
