Susanne Menge has been a member of the 20th German Bundestag since 2021. She studied at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg to become a secondary school teacher for politics/economics and sport. She has been a member of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen (the Greens) since 1984. She was a local councilor in Bad Zwischenahn (1986–92) and in Ammerland (1991–94), and active in the city council in Oldenburg (2001–6; 2011–13). She was a member of the Lower Saxony State Parliament (2013–17; 2019–21). In the German Bundestag, she is chair of the Transport Committee; a full member of the Economic Cooperation and Development Committee; a member of the Parliamentary Advisory Council on Sustainable Development; and substitute member of the Franco-German Parliamentary Assembly. Susanne Menge is a member of the Autobahn GmbH supervisory board and supervisory board chair of Oldenburg’s Transport and Water Company.
She has been a member of the ENRS Advisory Board since May 2024.
